Ayu Hospitalized; New Song for Honda
Ayu has updated her blog confirming headlines that she was hospitalized after a spill injured her right hand. She underwent emergency surgery and is now fine, but it will take three weeks to recover. Thus she has had to cancel upcoming performances including MUSIC STATION’s end of the year SUPER LIVE.
There is no word on how this will affect her Premium Countdown Live. I just hope she’ll do whatever it takes to take care of herself and get better instead of pushing through at the expense of her health.
On a lighter career note, Honda has updated its site with a commercial for one of its new models–featuring Ayu and a brand new song! The previously-unannounced song “Sparkle” is currently being used to promote Honda’s ZEST Spark cars. See the ad at Honda.co.jp. It’s been almost ten years since Ayu’s last major tie-in with Honda “too late” in 1999.
